PTAC Public Forum: Safe Routes to School
Friday, March 7th from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm
Featuring:
the First Selectman's Active Transportation Task Force (ATTF)
&
the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
Vin DiMarco and Bob DeAngelo, of the First Selectman's Active Transportation Task Force will provide information about the Safe Routes To School initiative and how PTAs (and parents) can get involved and make a meaningful difference in our kids' safety. They will also talk about Bike & Roll to School Day and the great opportunities for PTAs to celebrate the joys of active commuting while promoting a sense of community and school spirit.
We will then be joined by Laurel Scarlata, a board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for Southwest CT and a local Greenwich parent. Laurel will talk about how NAMI connects and supports the parents and caregivers of loved ones with mental health conditions and how PTAs and parents can help spread the word about this valuable volunteer support network.
This PTAC Public Forum is open to everyone, but will be of particular importance for PTA Presidents, Health & Wellness Committee Reps, and Facilities Committee Reps.
